Hello,

I use the demo site with demo records and tried to add a new Document Type with the help of WebSubmit Admin. But there seems an error with cloning from existing Document Types. I cloned from existing TEXT Doctype (ID was INTERNET), but in fact not all the elements were correctly cloned.

The new Doctype was indeed successfully created, but the resulting submission pages were empty, no error is reported by mail in this case. And if you’ll delete the actions and add the same actions with cloning from existing ones, the same error occurs, this time you’ll get an error message by mail from CDSware.

So I tried different other clonings, and found out, that it only works correctly if the Doctype ID is shorter than 7 characters. With 8 and probably more the error described above occurs and with exactly 7 characters all elements of the resulting submission pages are doubled. (Wonder why?)

In the Guide to WebSubmit is spoken of “We usually use a 3 letters acronym.”, but I thought, ok this is not obligatory and so I used my own IDs. Furthermore in the demo records 5 characters are used in some document types.

I’ve not much trouble with this error (I use shorter IDs for now.), but if anyone else has this problem, he/she can read this here ;) and perhaps the error will be corrected in upcoming versions of CDSware.

Best regards

Sven Börner
